ASYLUM SKATEPARK
ASYLUM SKATEPARK
Never ridden at Asylum before? Start here. This guide takes you from getting registered to checking in, finding your feet and sharing the park with other riders.
You don’t need to arrive knowing every trick or every ramp. Come prepared, tell us you’re new and give yourself time to settle into the session. If you’re organising a visit for someone else, share this guide with them before you travel.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Everyone must register through Sessions before arrival to avoid delays. Make sure everyone in your group has completed their registration before leaving home.
BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION
Have rider details and an emergency contact ready. Your disclaimer must include relevant medical conditions. Under-18s need a parent or guardian aged over 18 to sign it; disclaimers renew annually.
Arrange registration before the day so there’s time to resolve any questions. Contact the team if you need help completing it.
Check the day, time and any session restrictions. Want a calmer introduction? Ask the team which session they recommend for a first visit.
Check your equipment before leaving home. Contact reception in advance if you need hire equipment or help with sizes.
Go to reception when you arrive and say it’s your first time. Ask for an induction before you head onto the ramps.

AT ASYLUM
Riders must be at least 5. Under-14s need parent or guardian supervision; children remain your responsibility throughout their visit.
Spectators must stay off the ramps. Ask reception where to watch and keep younger children out of riding areas. Agree where to meet your rider at the end of the session; ask staff for help if you need it.
Our cafe is there for a food break. Keep meals and drinks away from the riding area.
Helmets are compulsory for under-18s. Reception offers helmet hire for £5; check size availability before travelling.
Pads and guards are recommended. Bring suitable clothing and well-maintained equipment, and check that your protection fits securely.
BMX, MTB, skateboards, inline skates and scooters are permitted unless a session says otherwise. Folding, collapsible and three-wheeled scooters are not allowed.
BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION
Read the full park rules for the bowl, foam pit and bouldering requirements.

GET TO KNOW THE FLOW
Watch how people move through an area before you join in. Wait for your turn, check both directions and keep your equipment back from the ramp edge while you wait.
Start with features that suit your experience. Keep turns short when others are waiting, take breaks off the course and give beginners room to learn. A friendly word and a little patience make a better session for everyone.
Check Opening Hours for the regular timetable, holiday changes and special dates. Confirm your chosen session before travelling.
Get registered before arrival, then check your session arrangements separately. Use Book a session or contact the team for availability and booking help.
Let reception know and ask for an induction. You can also enquire about coaching if you would like guidance before progressing to new features.
Have your registration and any booking details ready. If anything has changed since registering, tell reception before riding.
